Humanity is passing through a critical age. Tremendous technological advancement of the post industrial era has made immense resources and physical comforts available to human beings. However, speedy means of transportation and communications, information explosion, cut throat competition and purely materialistic world view has devastated personal and social relationships and bonds. The universal moral and ethical values which traditionally regulated the relationships between persons, family and society have been sacrificed at the altar of individual liberty, thus exposing the very individual to alienation, fear and introversion. The balance between individual liberty and social responsibility is lost. For the redemption of humanity from the perils of materialism and ensuring peace within self and for society and humanity at large, it is imperative that universal moral and spiritual values, a shared legacy of all religions, are promoted and given their due place.Inculcating the lost faith in individual is the only salvation for him from the spiritual void he has landed himself in.
The World of Islam Trust (WIT), Islamabad, Pakistan established in 1993, is working for promotion of universal moral and religious values with particular emphasis on Muslims and Islamic thought and culture. We believe that salvation of humanity lies in adopting the religious moral values. WIT is a not for profit, non-political and non-sectarian organization committed to promotion of religious values with emphasis on Islamic thought and culture through education and research. Common objective of its various activities and projects is to root out ignorance and inculcate awareness of social responsibility, self discipline and positive outlook. We believe that extra ordinary efforts in the field of religion, education and training are required for bringing about any broad based and sustainable positive change in the society. We have been endeavouring to develop Islamic personality with a deep sense of social responsibility. WIT has provided a forum for continuing education, self development and self understanding in order to become better and responsible citizen of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. WIT establishes institutions and organizations and facilitates the existing organizations / research institutes for finding solutions to socio-economic, political and cultural problems faced by the Muslim countries in general and Pakistan in particular. WIT also publishes and co-sponsors publication of quality Islamic literature.

Aims & Objectives
- 1. To promote religious principles, thoughts, civilization and culture throughout the World with special emphases on Islamic thought and culture.
- 2. To spread religious, moral, general and technical education.
- 3. To establish, maintain and / or support and facilitate management and running of academic institutions, reading rooms / libraries, hostels, mosques, madrassas open to all deserving persons.
- 4. To procure, co-sponsor and finance publication and distribution of the research work of research institutions for the benefit of general public.
- 5. To sponsor / facilitate research on issues relating to socio-economic, political and cultural problems of the developing countries with special emphasis on Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
- 6. To establish Information Centers for the dissemination of knowledge of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
- 7. To bring up, educate, assist and look after orphans, disabled persons, helpless children, widows and other needy and destitute persons.
- 8. To grant stipends, aid (in cash and / or kind) and scholarships to deserving persons for higher education and training in selected disciplines in Pakistan and abroad.
